Teaching Methods(教学方法)

This course will perform the following teaching methods: lectures, seminars, group assignment, Rain Classroom, case study methods, Simple standardized patient teaching (SSP), inquiry-based learning, and examinations.

 

Lectures: theoretical information that introduces new subjects in the course. It assumes that you as an individual participant will be well prepared and actively participate with comments and questions.

 

Seminars: seminar is a teaching method that allows you to discuss and reflect in a group based on given instructions. It assumes that you as an individual participant will be well prepared and actively participate in the seminar.

 

Group assignments (learning tasks): In the group work you will perform a variety of student work. Group assignments are obligatory non-graded assignments, written or oral.

 

Rain Classroom:Rain Classroom was the wisdom teaching tools launched by Tsinghua University in the context of mobile internet and big data. The purpose of this method is applying information technology with teaching Scenarios, and trying to provide digital and intelligent information support for teach process.  

 

Case study methods: During the teaching process, you will receive many clinical cases from the teachers, you should discuss the cases, analyze the cases, combine the knowledge and skills which you have learned to solve the problems of cases.

 

Simple standardized patient teaching (SSP): By using the students as simple standardized patients to give a scenario play to evaluate the learning outcomes of inquiry, physical examination.

 

Inquiry-based learning (IBL): IBL starts by posing questions, problems or scenarios—rather than simply presenting established facts or portraying a smooth path to knowledge. The process is often assisted by a facilitator. Inquirers will identify and research issues and questions to develop their knowledge or solutions. Inquiry-based learning includes problem-based learning, and is generally used in small scale investigations and projects, as well as research.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inquiry-based_learning - cite_note-2

Examinations: examinations included in the program are used to determine whether you have acquired the prescribed knowledge that providing a basis for the rating. This can be done both individually and in groups, in writing or orally in practice examination or theory examination..

Learning Outcomes(教学效果)


According to the necessity of medicine, the teaching contents must be the basic concept and knowledge, as well as fundamental skills. The teachers should pay special attention to training the students on scientific manner and the ability of scientific thinking. After completion of the course, the student should be able to

- Describe the main contents of inquiry, use the methods and techniques of inquiry to collect health data of clients;

- Describe the etiology and pathogenesis, clinical significance, key points of history taking and nursing diagnoses of clinical common symptoms;

- Account for the basic methods, contents, results and clinical significance of physical examination, finish the systematic full physical examination.

- Describe the characteristics of normal ECG, analyze the  clinical significance of abnormal ECG.

- Understand the basic form and contents of nursing records, write the nursing records correctly.

- Possess good communication skills, get some scientific thinking.

Course Evaluation(成绩评定)

Attendance Policy

If you can’t attend a compulsory module, you shouldcontact the teacher. The teacher will guide you on how you can compensate forthe missed part of the course. But if you missed one third of the whole courseor practice, you don’t have the chance to participate the final examination,and have no grades.

Student Evaluation/Grading Policies

This course will use structured grading policy:

Total score=Regular examination (60%)+Finalexamination(40%).

Regularexamination=Attendance(5%)+Lectureperformance(5%)+online learning(50%)+practice performance(40%). Online learningincludes watching videos, pre-lecture quize,assignments, discussion topics,tests, etc.

授课安排:本课程实施线上线下混合式教学,理论学习为42学时,其中线上学习16学时,线下学习26学时。

考核方式:本课程的评价包括过程性评价和终结性评价,其中终结性评价为期末将以闭卷笔答形式进行评价,占总成绩的40%,过程性评价占总成绩的60%,内容包括:考勤(5%)、课堂提问(5%)、线上学习(50%)、实验操作(40%)。其中线上学习成绩包括视频观看、测验、作业、考试、论坛发帖等。
