Course Introduction

   Mechanism and machine theory is an important basic course for undergraduates majoring in mechanics,the teaching objectives of this course are:through theoretical teaching, students can master basic theories and basic knowledge about the structural analysis of the mechanism, the scheme and parameter design of the mechanism, the motion analysis of the mechanism, the force analysis and the machine dynamics.Master the experimental methods and skills of typical institutions and machinery, and understand the new achievements and development trends in the field of machinery.Students have preliminary analysis and design capabilities of mechanisms and mechanical systems, and lay a solid foundation for subsequent professional courses and future mechanical design work.

   The teaching content of this course includes: structure analysis of plane mechanism, method of motion analysis of plane mechanism, plane linkage mechanism and its design, cam mechanism and its design, gear mechanism and its design, gear train and its design, introduction of other commonly used mechanisms , Force analysis and efficiency of plane mechanism, mechanical system dynamics, mechanical balance, etc.

根据新工科及工程教育认证对机械类专业复合型、高素质创新人才的培养要求,本课程目标为:了解机械发展历史和现代设计方法,熟悉机械领域最新发展动向和技术成果;熟悉常用机构、机械零部件设计的基本概念和知识,了解常用机构和通用零部件的工作原理、特点和在机械系统中的作用;掌握典型机构、通用零部件分析和设计的基本理论和方法,具备正确的设计理念,能对常用机构和机械零部件进行选型、参数和结构设计,并掌握机构和机械装置参数和性能测试的实验方法及技能,具备一定的现代机构和机械系统综合设计和创新能力;培养良好的学习能力、专业素养和职业道德。为后续课程学习和事业发展奠定坚实的基础。

1.The Position and Function of this Course

Mechanisms and Machine Theory is a compulsory technical basic course for mechanical, electromechanical, and near-mechanical disciplines. It plays a role as a bridging bridge in the teaching plan and lays the necessary foundation for students to learn subsequent professional courses.It is a strong theoretical and practical course.This course can enhance students’ mechanical theoretical basis, improve students' adaptability to mechanical technology work, and cultivate their ability to develop innovative capabilities.The purpose of this course is to train students to master the basic knowledge, basic theory and basic methods of mechanical design, to develop students' ability to design general-purpose parts and mechanical devices in mechanical design,to exercise students' ability to read English mechanical professional literature. It lays a solid foundation for subsequent professional courses and future design work.

2.The Teaching objectives and Basic Requirements of this course 

Through the theoretical teaching of this course, students can master the basic theory and knowledge about structural analysis, motion analysis, force analysis, and machine dynamics of common mechanisms,students can require preliminary capabilities of mechanism analysis and design;Students master the design principles, methods and general rules of mechanical design for general mechanical parts,they can get the ability to design general-purpose parts and general machine equipment and gradually form the normative design thinking and logical thinking ability,get the ability to use standards, specifications, manuals, and access to relevant technical data,master experimental methods and skills for typical mechanical parts,and understand some new achievements and development trends in the field of machinery.This course can cultivate students to master the basic theory, basic methods, basic knowledge and basic mechanical design skills of mechanical design.Through course design, comprehensive use of the theoretical knowledge learned, students are trained to analyze and design the actual working ability of the mechanical system.

(1)Get familiar with the drawing method of kinematic diagram of mechanism.

(2)Get the correct determination of the type and location of the kinematic pairs and measure the length of each link of mechanism and choose the suitable scale.

(3)Analyze whether the mechanism has a definite motion or not.

Designing

Balancing of Machinery

2

The balancer rotor is balanced statically with a track-type static balancer, level, and rubber cement.Use a flash type or digital balancer to find the dynamic imbalance and phase of the test rotor, and achieve dynamic balance by increasing (or subtracting) the mass.

Operating

Test and Analysis the kinematic parameters of mechanism

2

Construct the testing system of the mechanical motion parameters as required. take advantage of acceleration sensor to transform its motion parameter of the measured piece to an electrical signal. Then draw the curve about the motion parameter and compare it with the theoretical curve. Last, analyze why it is different from each other.
