Guests and the Front Desk







Front desk is the center of the hotel operations and the focus of guest service and interactions.

Most guest employee contacts are potential sales situations and front desk employees are in a good position to raise the bar of guest service through suggestive selling.

Siuggestive selling is the practice of influencing a guest’s purchase decision through the use of sale phrases and techniques.

Mainly suggestive selling at the front office concerns upselling guestrooms by turning property’s features into benefits in order to enhance the guest experience.

Another opportunity to support suggestive selling activities is “cross selling”.

Cross selling is using media in one area of the property to promote a different area of the property or employees suggesting a guest take advantage of various facilities.
