Developing paragraphs by examples

Astatement which is very general is seldom impressive or convincing. It isusually necessary to give examples to prove, illustrate, or clarify a generalstatement. We may be too used to saying “for instance” or “for example” to realizethat we are using a certain method for developing a topic.
