Dialogue 1 

A: Hey, Joe! Where have you been these past fewdays?
B: I’ve been busy with a first aid 1)         that I started about a week ago at the RedCross.

A: Cool! I’ve always wanted to do something likethat! Have you learned anything useful?

B: For sure! I mean we’ve learned how to 2)         pressure to stop bleeding, how to check for apulse, and even how to apply CPR!

A: Have you treated any real emergencies?

B: Well, they took us along with some paramedics.There was this guy who fell off the upper 3)         and suffered a concussion as well as a coupleof compound fractures. His wounds were pretty 4)         so he had been sent to the hospital as soon asgetting off the train. It was intense!

A: I can imagine! I tend to faint when I see blood,so I think I won’t be taking up a course like that anytime soon!

A: Excuse me. Is there any doctor in the train?

A: No, I have something important to do, so I must bequick to arrive Shenyang.
