简介:汶水塘捕鱼节是东源县漳溪畲族乡的一项特色捕鱼习俗,是客家地区冬天集体捕鱼、集体分享丰收的民俗活动,传承过程中与周氏宗族和显烈公信仰结合形成一套完整的民俗仪式。汶水塘位于漳溪畲族乡中联村内,也称为喷泉湖,湖深平均 1.5 米。据《周氏族谱》载,中联村周氏开基祖于明末到达此地,上祖截坑筑坝,提高水位,蓄水为塘,称为“汶水塘”,供民众饮用,灌溉田庄,放养鱼虾。每年农历正月初三,汶水塘边早早便会锣声、鞭炮声此起彼伏。村民们闻风而动,拿着渔网、渔篓、竹筐、水桶等捕鱼工具,纷涌而来汶水塘。活动开始前,周氏族人要祭拜位于塘边的显烈公,感恩神灵护佑。汶水塘放水差不多时,醒狮绕塘一周,鞭炮骤响,主持人一声令下,中联村周氏族人投身到水塘中进行捕鱼比赛,从鱼塘中捕到的鱼,不管大小均归各家所有,寓意“丰年有余(鱼)”。别姓村民及亲戚朋友,也都来现场看热闹,围观者有好几千人,大家共同喝彩,呈现一幅家家有鱼,年年有余的景象。傍晚,捕鱼活动结束后,村民们燃放烟花以庆祝节日,五彩缤纷的礼花把黑夜照耀得无比绚丽,火树银花不夜天,活动一直持续到亥时结束。随着近年参加汶水塘捕鱼节的群众越来越多,捕鱼节演变成了游客和村民一起参与的“捕鱼节”民俗活动。汶水塘捕鱼节用捕鱼比赛的方式来祈福“丰年有余(鱼)”,成为中联村每年春节最隆重的活动。这一民俗体现了全体村民对宗族祖先创业的尊崇,演绎大众对劳动成果的分享,是中联村传统文化的综合体现,在传承传统文化、促进社会发展、推动乡村振兴等方面都发挥着积极的作用。
英译:The Wenshui Pond Fishing Festival is a unique fishing custom in Zhangxi She EthnicTownship, Dongyuan County. It is a folk activity in the Hakka region where collective fishing andsharing of the harvest occur during winter. This tradition has integrated with the Zhou lineage andthe worship of Xianlie Gong, forming a complete set of folk rituals. Wenshui Pond, also known as Fountain Lake, is located within Zhonglian Village in ZhangxiShe Ethnic Township, with an average depth of 1.5 meters. According to the "Zhou FamilyGenealogy," the founding ancestor of Zhonglian Village's Zhou family arrived here in the lateMing Dynasty. An ancestral member dug a dam to raise the water level, creating the pond knownas "Wenshui Pond." This pond served for drinking water, irrigation of fields, and for raising fish32and shrimp. Every year on the third day of the Lunar New Year, the sound of gongs and firecrackersechoes around Wenshui Pond. Villagers respond to the call, bringing fishing nets, baskets, bamboo baskets, and buckets to the pond. Before the activities begin, members of the Zhoulineage perform rituals to worship Xianlie Gong, located by the pond, expressing gratitude fordivine protection. As the water is released from Wenshui Pond, a lion dance circles the pond, accompanied by a burst of firecrackers. At the command of the host, the Zhou clan of ZhonglianVillage plunges into the pond to participate in a fishing competition. All fish caught in the pond, regardless of size, belong to each family, symbolizing a bountiful harvest. Members of other surnames, as well as relatives and friends, come to the scene to watch theexcitement. Thousands of people gather around, cheering together, creating a scene of abundancefor every household, year after year. In the evening, after the fishing activity concludes, villagersset off fireworks to celebrate the festival. The colorful fireworks illuminate the night skymagnificently, continuing until the end of the festival around midnight. In recent years, as more and more people participate in the Wenshui Pond Fishing Festival, ithas evolved into a folk event where tourists and villagers participate together. Using a fishingcompetition to pray for "abundance in the year (of fish)," the festival has become the most grandevent during the Chinese New Year in Zhonglian Village. This folk custom embodies the respectof all villagers for the ancestors of the lineage, interprets the sharing of labor results among thepublic, and comprehensively reflects the traditional culture of Zhonglian Village. It plays apositive role in inheriting traditional culture, promoting social development, and promoting ruralrevitalization.
