Low uncertainty avoidance cultures like Singapore are more comfortable with uncertainty. Fewer formal rules and more openness to risk-taking. Stress is lower and acceptance higher for unconventional ideas and lifestyles. Emotions are shown more reservedly.

Hofstede said high uncertainty avoidance cultures view "different as dangerous" while low cultures see "different as curious". Interacting with strangers shows this contrast. High avoidance cultures have very formal, polite rituals. Low cultures are more casual.

So uncertainty avoidance measures cultural comfort with the unknown. Neither high or low is better - just different approaches worth understanding!
