1.  Introduction to the course.

英语写作1（记叙文）属于英语专业核心课程。英语写作是人们使用英语互通信息、交流思想的重要手段，在国际交流日益增多的今天，其作用显得更加重要。作为培养学生英语写作能力的重要环节，该课程开设于英语专业本科学习第二学期。

通过该课程的学习，学生能够熟悉有关英语记叙文的基础知识，例如：记叙文的定义、记叙文的特点等。能够掌握记叙文写作的核心要素以及记叙文的写作技巧。在把握词汇和语法的基础上加强语言综合运用能力的培养，引导学生关注和思考社会问题，提高思辨能力和跨文化能力。使学生能运用适当的方法用英文准确地叙述某一事件，在写作练习中养成较好的英语写作习惯，熟练掌握在信息时代运用英语进行信息交流的能力。
