Highlights

a) An international freight forwarder should be familiar with（对…熟悉） international trade routes（路线）, location of ports（港口位置）, transshipment points（转运点） and inland centers（内陆货运点）.

b) The documents commonly used in carriage of goods by sea are 1. booking notes(订舱单), 3.dock receipts（场站收据, 码头收据）,4. bills of lading(提单), seaway bills(海运单), 5. manifests（舱单，载货清单）,6. delivery orders（提货单）2. shipping orders (S/O)装货单.

c) Marine bills of lading perform(扮演、履行) a number of functions. It is receipt for the goods shipped, a document of title（物权凭证） to the goods and evidence（证据）of the contract of carriage of goods by sea.

d) The voyage chartering(航次租船) means that the shipowner promise（许诺） to carry cargo for a single voyage from loading port（装货港） to discharging port（卸货港）.

e) The time chartering(定期租船) means that the shipowner（船东） provides a designated (指定的）manned（给…配备人员）ship to the charterer（承租人）, and the charterer employs the ship for a specific period against payment of hire（租金）.
