Louise:  Hi, Jason, look at these club notices. What are you interested in? Do you likep laying guitar?

Jason:  Actually, I’m not into guitar at all.

Louise:  Neither am I. But don’t you think it is cool to carry a guitar on campus? It will definitely attract the attention of many pretty girls.

Jason:  Oh, come on, Louise! There is no reason to do something you’re not interested in.

Louise: How about drama club? Acting out the movie scenes is my hobby. It’s fun.

Jason:   How do I join that club?

Louise:  It says that every applicant has to show their performing talents so that the organizer can choose from them.

Jason:   Sounds good. I will go with you.

Judy:  Jason, what do you do in your spare time?

Jason:  I like playing with my dog.

Judy:  I’ve noticed that there are a lot of dog persons here, and dogs are most popular with urban residents. Why?

Jason:  You know, Judy, dogs are clever. They can play a lot of tricks.

Judy:  Really? Can your dog play tricks?

Jason:  Oh, yeah! He can sit down, roll over, chase the balls and even play dead.

Judy:  Cats are also clever. Why don’t my friends like cats?

Jason:  Tastes differ, I guess. I like dogs because they have families and are grateful for what they get. They are so cute when they are wagging their tails.

Judy:  Yeah, some people believe cats simply expect to be taken care of and they are not thankful and loyal.

Jason: Well, this is a kind of prejudice. We choose pets because our own personalities are similar to those of the pets we keep.

Judy:  I’ll say. I like cats because I see myself as being more independent while dog owners are friendly.

Jason:  I can’t agree more.

Hobbies

      People often have similar interests but there are some people who really have strange hobbies and you would be shockedto know that. Some of the following hobbies are very uncommon.

      A 78-year-old man, Vic Johnson from NewYork, rode a roller coaster 90 times in one day, bringing his lifetime total to 4,000 rides. He says he’s been going on it since 1959, and usually rides it about 20 times a visit.

      Reed Bridge of California gives away ＄10 every day to someone who looks as if they could use it, a different personevery day. He took up this hobby when he lost his job. Bridge expects nothing in return but a good feeling.

      Paul Yarrow of South London likes to appear on television. Whenever a news camera crew gets set up in a public venue, he hangs around in the background on camera. He has appeared in the background of live news reports on BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Sky News at random locations and at random times.
