Suppose you are an English teacher in a junior middle school in China. In this school year, you meet a new class of eighth-graders (初二). The students vary, to a certain extent, in English learning interests, habits, ability, etc. What can you do, in the first few weeks, to know about your students, so as to better design and give lessons?
