Customs(海关)
Customs
International passengers will go through a much more complicated process than the domestic passengers. They should go through the Customs formalities before check-in. In order to make it convenient for passengers to go through customs during arrival and departure, the major airports have set up the Red Channel and Green Channel examination systems. Which channel a passenger should go through depends on what he takes with him. Passengers without anything to declare on should go through the Green Channel; those with something to declare should choose the Red Channel; and those holding diplomatic passports will go through the diplomatic channel. In our country, outgoing passengers carrying registered articles, cultural relics and other restricted articles should go through the Red Channel. Passengers choosing the Red Channel must fill in a Customs Declaration Form, and keep it for inspection. When or if the passenger returns to China, he must show this form.
