1） What is a “text”/“discourse”?

 a) Definition:

   It may be defined as “a communicative occurrence (交际活动) which meets seven standards of textuality.” 

    If any of these standards is not considered to have been satisfied, the text will not be communicative. 

 b) Seven Standards of Textuality 

         Beaugrande & Dressler (1981:3) believed that the textuality had seven standards. They are:

     cohesion (衔接性),  coherence (语义连贯性)  , intentionality（意向性）, 

      accpetability（可接受性）,   informativity（信息性）,situationality（语境性） ,

      inter-textuality（语篇参照性/互文性）
