I. Teaching  materials

《英汉翻译教程》（修订本），张培基 主编，上海外语教育出版社，2019年版。

II. Aims of this course

  1. To master some basic knowledge and theories about translation

  2. To understand better the differences between English and Chinese

  3. To acquire  some commonly-used translation techniques

III. Requirements of this course

   1.  Full attendance, active participation/involvement ( 30% of the final score)

   2.  Eagerness to accumulate information or materials related to translation from public places, newspaper, TV, magazines, internet and other mass media. 

   3. Ability to translate faithfully and smoothly 250-300 words in one hour after one term of study.
