C: Excuse me, sir. This way, please. Please show me your ticket, boarding card and passport.
P: I'm a diplomat. According to the international pracitce, our documents and luggage are exempt from examinations.
C: Sorry. That's true for the customs check but this is the security check which every passenger, including diplomats, must go through. This is also international practice.
P: I'm a counselor of Embassy in Shanghai. I enjoy diplomatic immunity.
C: I'm sorry. Even an ambassador has to go through this check. We implement this check for the safety of all the passengers including you. We hope you will cooperate with us.
P: What if I refuse the check?
C: If so, you will not be allowed to go on board. That is according to the Civil Aviation Regulations of our government.
P: All right. I give in this time. But I still want to write a letter to your government about this.
C: Sorry, I'm just an inspector. It is my responsibility to do things according to our government regualtions. You could accuse me of doing something wrong, but in my opinion, as a diplomat, you should know how to respect the regulations of other countries.

A diplomat refused to go through the security check as he thinks he enjoys diplomatic immunity.(外交豁免权,外交赦免权).
2. How did the clerk solve the problem?
The clerk explained to him that every passenger, including diplomats, must go through security check, which is also international practice. If not, he will not be allowed to go on board.
3. What have you learnt from this dialogue?
As a security inspector(安检员), it is our responsibility to implement(执行) the security check for the safety of all passengers and the aircraft according to our government regulations.

P: It's mine. Is it fine? May I take it away now?
C: Hold on a second,please. Maybe your porcelain is broken.
P: Really? Oh, no. Broken? Yes, I dropped it on the floor when I was coming to the airport in a hurry. I didn't think it was broken. You know, it is for my parents. What shall I do?
C: It's really a great pity. I feel sorry. However, there is no use crying over the spilt milk. I guess you might get another one in the duty-free shop.
P: May I go back there now?
C: Sure, you can. But may I know when your flight will take off?
P: At 14:50.
C: You still have 50 minutes.
P: Can I leave my other baggage here?
C: Oh, it is better if you take them with you. As you see, there are many people and things here.
P: OK. Thank you for your kind suggestions, anyway.
