Boarding Cabins
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
In accordance with the risk level of the departure city or flight, our cabin crew will wear masks and other necessary PPE in compliance with the technical guidance on epidemic prevention and control issued by both the Civil Aviation Administration of China and Air China.
We will provide you with disinfectant wipes or hand sanitizer at the boarding gate. Please cooperate with our staff and ensure that you clean and disinfect your hands before boarding the aircraft.
In areas where social distancing signage is in place, our staff will remind you to practice social distancing when standing in line so that a safe distance can be maintained.
buses for remote stands We will clean and disinfect shuttle buses regularly. In addition, we will adjust the occupancy limits of shuttle buses in accordance with the needs of epidemic prevention and control.
Body temperature measurement
For high-risk flights with a flight duration of more than 4 hours, our attendants will use non-contact body temperature devices to measure the body temperature of passengers in the cabin.
In-flight emergency handling
We have established emergency handling procedures for suspected cases of illness during flight, meaning that any emergency can be handled in both a timely and proper way.
Air circulation in the cabin
During flight, the aircraft draws ample clean air from outside to ensure that air in the cabin is completely replaced approximately every three minutes.
The air in the cabin flows constantly in a top-down manner. All Air China aircraft are equipped with high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters, ensuring that the air circulating in the cabin is of consistently high quality.
Cabin cleaning and disinfection
Air China has launched the "Travel Clean, Fly Safe" program that standardizes and normalizes preventive "regular disinfection," demonstrating our commitment to passenger safety by enhancing the closed-loop management of cabin cleaning and disinfection.
In accordance with flight risk assessments and hierarchical management, Air China has established a standardized and routine aircraft disinfection mechanism that consists of post-flight preventive disinfection, terminal disinfection and concurrent disinfection.
All aircraft operating international/regional routes on the same day will undergo post-flight "preventive disinfection."
For domestic flights to and from areas implementing regular epidemic prevention and control measures, post-flight "preventive disinfection" will be undertaken once a week. For domestic flights to and from areas with a risk level of 2 or above, post-flight "preventive disinfection" will be undertaken after each flight.
For low- and medium-risk flights, the lavatory will be disinfected every two hours during the flight, and on an hourly basis during high-risk flights.
We will use safe, functional and airworthy cleaning products and disinfectants approved by the Civil Aviation Administration of China to undertake "preventative disinfection," wiping and disinfecting the areas and components frequently used by passengers.
Aisles: overhead panels, baggage compartments, reading lights, air outlets, side panels, windows, seats (tray tables, armrests, seat control units, decorative panels), storage lockers/closets, partitions, magazine/newspaper holders, attendant seats and other areas will be wiped and disinfected from outside to inside and from top to bottom.
Lavatories: the following five areas and components will all be wiped and disinfected in the following order, with other areas also included: the toilet seat, trash can, washbasin, lavatory wall and overhead panels, and lavatory door assembly (door surface, door handle, ashtray (if applicable) and door latch).
Kitchens: overhead panels, oven, water boiler, coffee machine, kitchen body, storage lockers/drawers, trash can and other areas will be wiped and disinfected from outside to inside and from top to bottom.
In addition to wiping and disinfection, we will also make two passes of spray disinfectant across the cabin floor to ensure that all areas are disinfected.
Onboard services
We will adjust the scope of onboard services in accordance with the corresponding epidemic risk level and the technical guidance on epidemic prevention and control issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China. At present, we are gradually resuming the provision of hot meals during domestic flights. However, we can only provide pre-packaged food on flights with a higher risk level and sales of duty-free products may be limited or suspended. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
Promotion of epidemic prevention
Our cabin crew will use announcements to remind passengers to take proper personal protection measures. For example, masks should be worn for the duration of the flight and should not be removed unnecessarily; passengers should sanitize their hands before meals or after using the lavatory and passengers should immediately report symptoms such as fever, cough, weakness as well as any other symptoms to attendants.

Kia ora and welcome aboard. Before we depart, we thought we show you the safety features aboard this flight. Please obey all crew member instructions, placards(布告,通知) and illuminated signs.
If the fasten-seatbelt sign lights up, return to your seat and buckle up. Seatbelts fit low and tight across your hips. Keep it on throughout your trip. But should you need to get up, simply lift the lever.
If you need air, an oxygen mask will fall from above. Just pull down the mask and place it over your nose and mouth. Pull up on both sides of the elastic and tighten it. Don't worry if the bag doesn't inflate. Oxygen will flow easily. And make sure you've got your own mask on before helping children or those who are less able.
If an emergency were to happen during take-off and landing, you will need to fasten your seatbelt and place your forehead against the seat in front. Put your feet back firmly on the floor and hold your lower legs. For those sitting in business & premium, sit upright with your hands on your thighs and your feet firmly on the floor.
Life jacket is within your reach. In economy class it's located under your seat.
Remember smoking is prohibited anywhere on board this flight, that includes using and charging electronic cigarettes anywhere including lavatories.
In the unlikely event of emergency, escape path lighting will show you the way to the exits. Your crew are now pointing out the exits. Take note and count the rows to your nearest exit. They could be behind you.
And should we need to evacuate, please leave all the luggage behind.
Lightweight handheld electronic devices can be used anytime. In-flight wifi is not available on this aircraft. You are free to use bluetooth.
On behalf of everyone here in Air New Zealand, thanks for having this fantastic journey with us. Have a great flight.
