Contents:

Part I: Lead-in and Discussion (20 m)

Question: How do  you celebrate National Day? Do you know the real meaning of it?

Part II: Structure Study (10m)

Part III: Text analysis of Text I (60 m)

1. useful words  and expressions in the text

Backdrop,  barbecue, bonnet, cliché, confront, expatriate, fleeciness, folly, pursue,  riposte, sinister, skirmish, suppress, etc.

2. important  sentence structures and certain paragraph analysis

Teaching  aid:

1.      Students are supposed to prepare for the  questions by discussing with classmates and then answer the questions in  groups.

2.      Watch a film episode and discuss the  topic that is connected with the theme of the text.
