PhD, Professor, born in 1976, majoring in Computer Science，Technology and received his master’s degree in 2002 from Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology and doctor’s degree in 2006 from Nanjing University of Science and Technology. From 2006 to 2007, he studied in Freiburg University, Germany supported by the Scholarship of Jiangsu Study Abroad. From 2008 to 2010, he was enrolled as a Postdoctor by Waterford Institute of Technology, Ireland. In 2014, he studied in the department of Computer Science in Sydney University funded by CSC. 

When acting as the Postdoctor in WIT, Ireland, Prof. Xie was assigned the assistant teacher by the department of Computer Science. He delivered the modules of Computing Essentials, Operating System for the Irish university students. Also, he worked as the master supervisor for three international students during that period.

Now Prof Xie is working as a teacher and conducting teaching and research at the same time in Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology. He is acting as the PI of several national projects, and supervising nearly 10 PhD and Bachelor students. His research interests include image processing, pattern recognition, information security and so on.
