Directions: There are 10 sentences in this section. Please translate sentences 81-85 from Chinese into English, and translate sentences 86-90 from English into Chinese. Write your answer on the Answer Sheet.

你旅游时走陆路还是水路？ 

Are you traveling by land or by sea?[解析] 本句可译为一般疑问句。“你旅游时”可误认为做时间状语，其实将本句译为一般疑问句即可。需注意的是“走陆路还是水路”的翻译，可直接译为by land or by sea。

孩子的性格受家庭环境影响很大。 

Child"s character is greatly influenced by family environment.[解析] 此句译为主动句和被动句均可。须注意几个词的翻译：“影响”译为influence；影响“很大”可用副词greatly来修饰。

6. 

Prices vary with the seasons. 

物价随季节而变动。[解析] 本句为简单句。vary with...译为“随着……而变化”即可。其他比较简单。

7. 

A pen is to a writer what a gun is to a fighter. 

笔之于一个作家正如枪支之于一名战士。[解析] 本句是特殊句型。“一个完整的句子+what+另一个完整的句子”应译为“……之于……就像……之于……”。所以本句译起来较简单。

8. 

Many girl students specialize in English. 

许多女生专攻英语。[解析] 本句是个简单句。主语为many girl students，谓语为specialize in，译为“专业于……，专攻……”；宾语为English。认准主谓宾即可。

9. 

Thanks to a kind-hearted taxi driver, Amy arrived at the meeting room in time. 

幸亏遇到一位好心的出租车司机，Amy及时到达了会议室。[解析] 本句是个简单句。Thanks to+n.做状语成分，译为“多亏了……”；arrive at译为“到达”；in time译为“及时”。
