More People Choosing Overseas Destinations for Their Holidays

From the chart given above, we can observe that the number of people travelingabroad experienced some changes during the past several years. From 1993 to2003, the number of Chinese people choosing overseas destinations for theirholidays increased rapidly from less than 5 million to 20 million, and then to70 million in 2011. 

What exactly contributes to this phenomenon? Reasons can be listed as follows:for one thing, the authorities have issued some preferential policies topromote the development of the overseas tourism industry, which encourages asudden emergence of travel agencies that can provide customers with convenientoverseas tourism services. For another, with the improvement of financialstatus and purchasing power, a considerable number of Chinese people can affordthe once-deemed- expensive traveling expenses. Last but not least, as thereexists huge difference in cultures, customs and landscapes between China and overseascountries, quite a few people hold that overseas traveling is not only aperfect way to relax oneself. but also a good chance to enrich their knowledgeand expand their horizons. 

By observing the past trends, we may forecast that the growth tendency willcontinue. However, overseas tourism is also a highly variable industry which isvulnerable to seasons and climates, international political situation,fluctuations in exchange.
