1.assume第一层意思=presume=suppose（假定，设想）
1.1 assume＋that从句，如果假定内容是将来发生的事，从句时态可以用一般将来时，也可以用一般现在时。比如，Let's assume (that) she wins (will win) the game. （咱们假定她赢了这场比赛）
1.2 assume sb/sth +to do，比如，Let's assume it to be the case（咱们姑且假定情况确是如此），但是如果to do的动词是瞬间动词，要用 to have done，比如，We can assume him to have received the letter（我们可以假定他接到了信）
2.assume第二层意思=to take power or responsibility（承担）
2.1 造成这次事故的主要负责人都必须assume responsibility（承担责任）
2.2 乔布斯离世后，库克assumed the role of CEO of APPLE（出任了苹果CEO）
3.assume=to pretend to have a particular feeling or quality（假装）
3.1有些人对你嘘寒问暖，assume an air of concern（装出关心的样子），其实内心根本不在乎你，而有些人assume a look of indifference（表面装出一副无所谓的样子），但其实他们的内心深处永远留有一个位置属于你
