1.equivalent作名词=a person or thing equal to another in value or measure or force（等价物）；equivalent=equ(equal)+i+val(value)+ent，经过拆解后发现equivalent的意思就是equal value

  1.1有些中文has no equivalent in English（在英语中没有对应词），比如走后门，托关系的 “关系”就没有英文对应词

  1.2 固定搭配“A is the equivalent of B”表示“A是B的对等物”，比如：This qualification is the equivalent of a degree（这一资格相当于大学学位）

2. equivalent作形容词=being essentially equal（相等的，相同的），固定搭配“A is equivalent to  B”(A与B相同)，注意介词用to

 2.1 “这一资格相当于大学学位”如果用equivalent做形容词表达就是“This qualification is  equivalent to a degree”

 2.2 One dollar is equivalent to 7RMB（1美金相当于7块钱），也就是说1美金和7块钱是equivalent amount（等值）的
