7.定语从句表示时间

具有时间状语功能的定语从句最主要的特点就是，主句的动作发生在从句动作的同一瞬间，大部分情况下从句和主句的动词是同一时态。翻译时在从句中应加上“当……时……”。

People who listen to Hawking's lectures sometimes find it difficult to understand him，because his thoughts and ideas often seem as large as the universe he is trying to describe．(人教大纲版高二上第4页)
