4.由whoever，whatever与whichever引导的主语从句

注意连接代词whoever，whatever，whichever等引导的主语从句的含义。Whatever he did was right．(whatever=the thing that)

他所做的事情是正确的。

Whatever I have is yours．

我所有的一切都是你的。

提示：

①whatever在引导名词性从句时，所表达的意思是any thing that或the thing that。

②whatever还可以引导让步状语从句，相当于no matter what。

Whatever the next“age”maybe，it is sure to change our life and the way we understand the world and ourselves．(人教大纲版高二下第86页)

无论下一个时代是什么，它一定会改变我们的生活，以及改变我们对整个世界和自己的看法。

Whichever of you comes in will receive a prize．

你们中间任何进来的人都会得到一个奖励。

提示：

whichever of you=anyone of you who

Whoever comes will be welcome．(whoever=any one who)

来的人将受到欢迎。

Whoever is tired may rest．(whoever=anyone who)

任何累了的人都可以休息。

提示：

①上述两例中whoever的意义是anyone who，有时还有另外一个含义the person who。

Whoever helped me has gone．

帮助我的那个人已经走了。

Whoever did this should admit it frankly．

做这件事的人应该坦白承认。

由于whoever具有anyone who和the person who两个含义，所以有些句子是有歧义的。

Whoever told you that was lying．

a．谁对你讲这件事，谁就在撒谎。b．对你讲这件事的那个人在撒谎。Whoever cut down these trees without permission should be punished．

a．谁不经允许砍了那些树就要受到惩罚。b．不经允许砍了那些树的人要受到惩罚。

②在口语中常用whoever代替whomever。

Whoever/whomever you invite will be welcome．

你们当中不论哪个进来将会得到奖励。

在此句中，主语从句的连词同时在从句中充当invite的宾语，本应该用whomever的，但是在非正式表达中，常用whoever代替whomever，这就像疑问词的whom和关系代词的whom常被who代替一样。

③whoever/whoever还可以引导让步状语从句，相当于no matter who/ whom。

Who/Whomever you marry，make sure that he can cook．

=No matter who/whom you marry，make sure that he can cook．

你不管嫁给谁，务必嫁给一个会做饭的人。
