3.在让步状语从句中

在让步状语从句中，谓语动词常用“may+动词原形”或者仅用动词原形。(参见状语从句)

I won't let you in whoever you may be．

无论你是谁，我都不让你进去。

Whether the figures be accurate or not，they have to be rechecked．

不管那些数据准确与否，都得重新核对。

The earth is a powerful magnet and all magnets behave the same whether they be large or small．

地球是一个强大的磁体，而所有的磁体无论大小其作用都是一样的。

Whether he succeed or fail，it will not matter to me．

无论他成功还是失败，都和我没有关系。

当然，在这类状语从句中，虚拟语气并不是强制性的，也可以使用陈述语气。
