在so that，in order that引导的状语从句中，常用“should/would/could/ might+动词原形”来表示虚拟语气。如:

She stayed at home for a few days so that she could take care of her mother．

她在家里呆了几天以便能照看她的母亲。

He took a taxi to the station so that he should not miss the train．

他打的去了车站以便不错过那趟火车。

I did this so that I might have a couple of days to prepare my MS．

我这样做是为了有几天时间准备我的手稿。

I lent him￡5 in order that he might go for a holiday．

若从句为否定结构，谓语多用should构成。

He looked down so that she should not see his eyes．
