“the+形容词/分词”如the brave，the poor，the rich，the blind，the young，the old，the sick，the wounded，the injured，the unemployed，the dying，the living，the departed，the accused，the beautiful等结构担任主语表示一类人时，谓语动词常用复数;但当少数形容词或过去分词与定冠词连用指个别或抽象概念时，谓语动词用单数。
