Chapter 16 Religion in the United Kingdom

Most people in the UK believe in the Christianity.The 2007British Social Attitudes Survey,which covers England,Wales and Scotland,but not Northern Ireland,indicated that 20.87%were part of the Church of England,10.25%non-denominational Christian,9.01%Roman Catholic,2.81% Presbyterian,1.88%Methodist,0.88Baptist,and other Protestant 1.29.There are also a few Muslims and Buddhists in Britain.The Anglican Church,or the Church of England,is the established Church of the English nation.The Presbyterian Church is the established one in Scotland which is quite separate,having a different organization without bishops,and in Wales there is(since 1914)no established Church at all.
