The mass media plays a very important role in American politics and social life.Almost every American gets his or her information about world，national，and local affairs from mass media.There were traditionally two types of mass media：the print media of newspapers and magazines and the broadcast media of radio and TV.Now advances in technology are blurring the distinction between the print and broadcast media.The Internet makes information available that is also published in newspapers and magazines or presented over the radio and TV.
