Lesson 51(A) Complaint of W rong Dispatch(B) Apologizing forW rong Dispatch

I. About the letter:

Letter A isw ritten by the buyer complaining about the goods w rongly delivered. Whenever such case happens,buyers should advise the sellers at once and send them the full particulars of the goods they received so that the sellers may check up w ith the order,and forward the replacement.

Letter B is a reply to letter A. In this letter,the seller admits that he hasmade somemistakes in dispatching the goods and w ill put things right.

II. Additional notes:

1. conform to符合,遵照

We regret to tell you thatupon comparison,we found that the goods you sent us don't conform to the original samples.

我方很遗憾地告知你方经过比对我们发现你方所发货物与原来的样品不符。

2. invite one's attention to请某人注意……

We'd like to invite your attention to the fact that so farwe haven't received any news from you regarding the dispatch of the goodswe ordered.

我们想请你方注意到目前为止我们未从你处收到任何关于发运我方订货的消息。

3. trim v./n.修剪,整理,装点;切边

Please tell yourmanufacturer to trim the bed sheets as the sample indicates.

请告知你方厂商按照样品的方式修剪床单的边缘。

4. be agreeable to同意

We are agreeable to your proposal of replacing type A w ith type B.

我们同意你方用B型号替换A型号的建议。

5. execution n.执行(订单、合同等)

Our clients are quite satisfied w ith your execution of their orders.

我们的客户十分满意你们对于他们的订单的执行情况。

III. Chinese version of the letters:

(A)投诉发错货

敬启者:

感谢你方发来我方11月12日订购的床单。遗憾的是经检验我们发现货物与样品不符。我们请你方注意如下两点:

1.床单的颜色与样品不符。

2.床单的修边不好。

由于急需此货,我们已将两条床单另邮寄给你方,希望你方立即用正确颜色的床单替换整批货物。关于空运费,我们同意额外费用的50%由我们负担,另外50%须由你方承担,因为空邮的包装和保险费用都较低。

我们期待着你方的回复,告知是否同意我们的提议。

(B)为发错货道歉

敬启者:

我们加急回复了你方12月29日来信。首先,我们为在执行你方订单中发生的不幸错误而道歉。我们完全不清楚这样的错误怎么可能没被发现,因为所有的货物都是经过我们的发货部初检和复检过的。

这是多年来我们第一次被你们申诉,我们将来也将百般注意避免这样的错误。为了不再给你方添任何麻烦,我们今日空运了另外一批床单给你,一周之内即达。

请将你方退货及其他费用借记我方账户。我们保证将采取一切措施避免今后发生类似的事情。

5.Translate the follow ing letter into Chinese:
