This is a good short letter asking for a compensation of USD650 for the expense of repacking the packages. This is the second time in three weeks we have had cause to w rite to you about the same matter and we find it hard to understand why precautions could not be taken to prevent a repetition of the earlier damage.

The present carpets are usable，but because of their condition we cannot offer them for sale at the normal price. We therefore suggest that you make us an allowance of 20% on the invoiced cost. If you cannot do this，then we are afraid we shall have to return the carpets for replacement.
