Lesson 46 Providing Insurance Information to the Buyer

I. About the letter:

This is a letter w ritten by the seller on the request of the buyer. The lettermainly introduces the insurance clauses of the People's Insurance Company of China and of the Lloyd'in London. The insurance clauses provided by PICC and Lloyd'are different，and the buyer has the right to decide which clauses to choose.

2. Ocean Marine Cargo Clause海洋货物运输保险条款

本保险分为平安险、水渍险及一切险三种。被保险货物遭受损失时，本保险按照保险单上订明承保险别的条款规定，负赔偿责任。在向保险人索赔时，必须提供下列单证:保险单正本、提单、发票、装箱单、磅码单、货损货差证明、检验报告及索赔清单。如涉及第三者责任，还须提供向责任方追偿的有关函电及其他必要单证或文件。

3. Lloyd Insurance Company，London劳埃德保险公司

十七、八世纪末叶由爱德华.劳埃德创办的一家咖啡馆，后来逐步发展成为海上保险和航运业务的交易所。1871年以劳埃德公司的名义向政府注册，发展成为世界上最有影响的保险组织。它本身不承办保险业，其业务由参加该社取得会员资格的承保人办理。

如你方愿意，我们也可以为你们投保附加险，额外保费也由你们承担。这样的话，我们可以把有关保险商出具的费用收据寄给你方。通常保险金额是发票金额的110%。如果你要求更高的保险金额，我们可以相应安排，额外费用由你方承担。
