This is a letter in which the buyer advises the seller that the relative L/C has been opened and asks the seller to make immediate shipment.

As usual，the buyer，as soon as the L/C is established，would ask the seller to effect shipment in strict accordance w ith the time stipulated in the Contract so that they may catch the brisk market.

II. Additional notes:

1. expiration n.终止，期满

The expiration date of L/C No. 4567 is March 31.

III. Chinese version of the letter:

3. Translate the follow ing letter into English:

We are now very anxious to know about the shipment of our above order for 3，000 sets of“Butterfly”Brand Sewing Machineswhich should be delivered before March 20 as contracted.

Now the shipment date is approaching rapidly，but so far we have not received any information from you concerning this lot. When we placed the order we definitely pointed out the importance of punctual shipment as our customerswere in urgent need of the goods and we had assured them of an early delivery.

We hope you w ill make every effort to effect shipment within the stipulated time as any delay would cause us no small difficulty.

V. Optional reading:

Immediately on receipt of your fax dated July 4 advising that the covering export licence had been issued，we opened the L/C No. 6022 for USD1，500 in the customary manner.
