Thomas: And her voice, like lark’s song?

Shakespeare: Deeper! Softer! None of your twittering4 larks5, of a banished6 nightingale’s from my garden before they interrupt her song.

Thomas: Ah! She sings too?

Shakespeare: Constantly! Without doubt! And plays the lute7, she has a natural ear! And her bosom! Did I mention her bosom?

Thomas: What of her bosom?

Shakespeare: Oh, Thomas! A pair of pepons as round and rare as golden apples!

Thomas: 4) I think lady’s wise to keep your love at a distance! For what lady would live up to8 it, close to it, when her eyes and lips and voice maybe no more beautiful than mine. 5) Besides, what kind of lady of wealth andnoble marriage love happily with a bank side poet and player?

Shakespeare: Yes, by God. Love knows nothing of rank, nor riverbank. It was spark between the queen and the poor vagabond9 who plays the king. And their love should be minded by each, for love denied blights10 the soul we owe to God. So tell my lady William Shakespeare waits for her in the garden.

Thomas: But what of Lord Wessex?

Shakespeare: For one Kiss I would defy a thousand Wessexcs.
