ABSTRACT

The purpose of this book is to describe the development process of Chinese novels by revealing the tendency in which the description and personalization of characters become more and more important in the novels of the Yuan and Ming Dynasties．Such study is discussed on the basis of a new concept of the history of literature，with the new concepts of content and form，attempts to systematical inquire into the development process of the personalization in character description in a specific historical period，this is a development of both descriptive form and descriptive content．Form and content as an art entirety，not only appeared in the novel's text structure，but also in the history of novels．As a result，this kind of construction contributed to the character image who is personalizationed．The form，the aesthetic feeling and the humanity constitutes an art entirety in the development process of the personalization of the novels in Yuan and Ming Dynasties，so the details and links in the development process become very complicated，this study describes all kinds of details in the course of the development of the Chinese novels in Yuan and Ming Dynasties，therefore，it is recognized that Chinese ancient novel's development is the development from a lower stage to a higher stage，from a lower shape to a higher shape，at the same time，the study revealed that the novel's aesthetics，text and history all undergo a meaningful change．This book could help us to understand deeply the feature and the history of the Chinese literature．This book is divided into two parts，concerning nine aspects．Part I covers“introduction”，“chapter 1”，“chapter 2”and“chapter 3”．The gist of the introduction is to explain the research history，target，scope and train of thought and method．Chapter 1to chapter 3describes the development process of personalization in character description in Yuan and Ming Dynasties，and also the other details．PartⅡincludes four chapters and the conclusion．Chapter 1，2and 3from different point of view，further study the development of the personalization in the novel's character description in the Yuan and Ming Dynasties．The last chapter is to sum up all kinds of questions，and to give a theoretical summary．The conclusion is to show this study's significance and its value in a few words．
