A national guide, also known as a tour director or tour manager, is someone who leads a group throughout a country or part of a country. He/She is assigned by the travel company at the tourist destination. He/She is in charge of the liaison work and supervises the implementation of the contract by the local travel agency.

There are two kinds of national guides: the national guide for inbound group and the national guide for domestic group.

The national guide for inbound group works with the tour leader and the local guide, forming the serving team.

The domestic national guide cooperates with the local guide of each stop, forming the serving team.
