1.Enact the above three situational dialogues in small groups.

a Chinese representative,an interpreter and a foreign businessman.

2.Construct dialogues on the following basis.

1) A personnel from one of the branches of the China National Textiles Import and Export Corporation is making an offer to a foreign buyer.Try to think out the reasons given by the two parties for bargaining.At the end of the talk,both make some concessions to meet each other half-way and our salesman makes another offer according to the terms already agreed.The offer is accepted by the foreign buyer.

2) The foreign exporter and the personnel from the China National Technical Import Corporation are discussing the payment terms for a big complete plant.The foreigner asks us to apply to a foreign bank for a loan to pay for the plant,while we are trying to persuade him to agree to deferred payment terms.At the end they come to terms and payment by installments is agreed upon.

3.Translate the following dialogue into English.

A: 布朗先生,我们基本上将合同条款都谈妥了,我们就要按谈妥的条款准备合同了,能不能请你将有关的条件再重复一遍,免得出差错。

B: 你说得对。我重复一遍: 高清晰液晶电视50 000台,46英寸,“索尼”牌,每台300美元上海到岸价,2021年2月至6月每月装10 000台,付款方式信用证,凭装船单据付款。我说得对吧!

A:是的。但有一点你还没提到,而我们又十分关心的。

B: 噢,对了,包装问题,是吧?

A: 是的。

B: 每台电视机都用透明塑料袋包好,固定在硬质泡沫塑料衬垫(hard fermented plastic padding)里,放在硬纸板箱中,外用尼龙带(nylon straps)加固。

A: 对。不要忘记在纸板箱上印上“小心轻放”“易碎物品”及其他相关装运标志。

B: 当然,不必担心这一点。
