Mobile Phones Can’t Replace Formal Schooling

As we can see from the picture，a pupil with a mobile phone in his hand asks his mother why he is going to school if his phone already knows everything.Actually，the pupil overrates the role of the mobile phone，and fails to appreciate the significance of going to school.

Can the mobile phone replace formal schooling？I don’t think so.To begin with，since formal schooling is provided by teachers experienced in educational philosophy and teaching strategies，students are expected to acquire systematic knowledge and develop healthy values and ethics under their instruction.By contrast，mobile phones can only provide bits and pieces of information.In addition，the classroom-based model of education offers students ample opportunities of face-to-face interaction with others，which will help to cultivate their interpersonal skills. Lastly，formal education equips students with the expertise needed for jobs.

In short，the importance of formal schooling cannot be stated enough，so it is necessary for kids to go to school.
