7.2 The memory recognition test

As mentioned earlier,the cognition processes involved in reading result from a complex interaction,a complex trading-off relationship between all the factors concerning global coherence,local coherence and surface cohesive devices.Therefore,we need to find a way to test the effect of each of them in the cognition.For this end,a memory recognition test has been designed.The specific purpose is to see how the three variables,namely global coherence,local coherence and surface cohesion,are related to the memory and retrieval of the elements in the English learning advertisements and how much influence each of them has.After the introduction of the research design in Section

7.2.1 and hypothesis in Section 7.2.2,the results will be reported and discussed in Section 7.2.3 followed by a brief conclusion in Section 7.2.4.
