5.3 Analysis of local coherence patterns across the stages of the English learning advertisements

As discussed in the previous section,the analysis of the construction of local coherence in the English learning advertisements must be conducted in a stage-specific manner due to the substantial differences in semiotic configurations in these stages.In this section altogether four different patterns of local coherence are found among all the stages,one in the Reader Attraction stage,one in the Corporate Profile and Testimonial and the phases of the Statements of Competitiveness stage except the“learning method”,one in the“learning method”phase under the stage of Statements of Competitiveness,and one in the Course Information stage.They are elaborated in detail in the rest of the section.
