1. Presentation (Book Report) , Q&A, Comments. (7 mins)
2. Report on Pre-class Group Discussion: What I go to college & what I expect out of university. (2 mins * 6 groups =12 +6 mins (intermission) = 18 mins)
3. Theme , Structure and Style of the text (20 mins)
(1) Theme: The difference between college education and training in technical schools?
What are the changes?
How do you cope with the changes?
Why does the author think people go to college?

4. Inquiring about the students' point of view (10 mins)
(1) What is your opinion of the author's point of view in the text? Do you agree?
(2) How do you view the fact that some people can also succeed without much higher education? Do you think there is a big difference between an educated success and an uneducated success?
(3) What is the school motto of Jilin University? How does it reflect the educational philosophy of this university?
5. Matching task: Ask the students to match words and meanings, which will prepare for the explanation of language points in the next session (2 mins)
6. Ask the students to give a summary of today's work (2 mins)
7. Giving assignments (2 mins)
(1) Study the school badges of Chinese universities and design a badge for our class.
(2) Choose two paragraphs you like most to recite and post your recitation onto xuexitong.
8. Q & A (答疑) (3 mins)
9. Draw a picture, write an essay, or a poem about your impression of Jilin University since you can not come back to school now and upload it to xuexitong. (20 mins)
