Task 4

Comments: First the subject line is inappropriate and rude. It should be a concise summary of the e-mail message so that the reader will know what the e-mail is about before reading the whole mail. Second, the tone of the whole e-mail is rude. For example, the opening of this e-mail uses expressions like “bear in mind that I am no longer responsible for… .” The body part uses “he is the one who should be contacted… .” The ending part uses “your cooperation is appreciated in making sure all … know about this.” Third, the word “staff” does not have a plural form. Finally, the complimentary close should not use abbreviation.

Subject: Petty Cash Vouchers

Hi John,

Some of the staff from your department are still bringing their petty cash vouchers to me. However this responsibility was taken over by Martin in Accounts last month.

Please inform your staff that they should deal with Martin in future.

Thanks for your help John.
