In reply to your letter of May 21st informing us of packing and shipping instructions, we’d like to state the following:

The shirts are to be packed in polybags of one piece each, 10 pieces to one box and 10 boxes to a carton instead of wood case. Cartons are light and compact, and easier to handle in transit. They are extensively used in our export shipments, and we have never received any complaints from our clients concerning the outer packing.

Besides, each carton will be lined with a polythene sheet in the forwarding company, well preventing the shirts from dampness. Furthermore, we’ll secure all the cartons by overall strapping not only to strengthen the packing but also to avoid pilferage. The dimensions are 17cm high, 30cm wide and 50cm long with a volume of about 0.026 cubic meters. The gross weight is around 25 kilos each carton.

With reference to shipping marks, in addition to the gross, net and tare weights on the outer packing, we will mark your initials WZRCO in a diamond, under which the port of destination and contract number will also be stenciled. Furthermore, warning marks like “HANDLE WITH CARE”, “KEEP DRY”, etc, will also be indicated.

If you still prefer wooden cases over cartons or have other special requirements in packing and shipping marks, please let us know. We will meet your requirement to the best of our ability.

9. cubic: used in units of volume to show when the length of something has been multiplied by its width and height（体积单位）立方的

Opening part: to express receipt of packing letter/notify whether or not do as requested

Body part: If agreeing with customer’s request, confirm details of packing; If there’s disagreement, state convincing reasons.
