1. Formal invitations are written on a line-by-line basis. They are usually centered in separate lines.

2. The contents of a formal invitation are usually written in the third person covering only the key points such as names of the hosts, names of the invited, time, date and place, etc.

3. Do not use punctuation at the end of lines in formal invitations.

4. When declining an invitation, you should give an explanation.
