Announcements may rightly be considered closer to public relations than social business letters．They may take the form of news releases，advertisements，or promotional letters．But formal announcements resemble invitations in both tone and format．Indeed，the combination of formal announcements/invitations is not an uncommon form of correspondence．Business events such as openings，mergers9，and promotions may be the subject of both formal and informal announcements．

d．Travel Arrangement

We are arranging for a bus tour to the Summer Palace this Saturday，24th September．

The bus will depart from the Beijing Hotel shortly after 8:30 a．m．and return around 6．p．m．in time for dinner at the hotel．

Lunch will be served at Jinghua Restaurant in the Summer Palace．

There will be quick stops at Haidian Free Market and Beijing Zoo on our way back．
