4.Conjunctive Adverbs连接副词

Conjunctive adverbs are a special kind of coordinate conjunctions.They are used not only to connect independent clauses but also to modify the second clause.Commonly used conjunctive adverbs are as follows:

连接副词可视为连词的一种特殊形式。它不仅可以连接两个独立分句,并且可以修饰第二个分句。常用的连接副词如下:

1.collection letters:letters to obtain payment of a debt,such as a bill,a check,etc.催款函,托收(信)

2.credit line,or credit limit:the amount of credit that is allowed by a supplier to a particular customer信贷额度,信贷限期

3.credit reference:persons or firms named by a customer asking a supplier for credit,from whom the supplier can get information about the business reputation of the customer资信证明人

4.cash order:an order that is supplied against payment of cash before or at the time of delivery,no credit being given现金订货

5.credit rating:a system of classifying customers and possible future customers according to their financial strength and the degree of trust that a supplier can place in them信用评级

6.credit standing,or credit status:something like credit rating,which can reflect the company's financial position资信状况

7.checking account:also called current account,on which the commercial bank customer receives no interest and on which a customer can cash and draw checks活期账户

savings account:a bank account on which the bank usually pays a slightly higher rate of interest than on ordinary deposit accounts,small sums can be drawn but a due notice must be given before taking out large sums储蓄账户

8.bank balance,or balance at bank:the balance to the credit or debit of a customer's account with a bank银行余额

9.option:the right to buy or sell something at a stated time in the future期权;选择权;特权You can leave your options open till next week.

10.advertising campaign:a planned set of advertising operations spread over a given time and over a range of media,with the object to having the influence on the customers广告大战

11.rebate,or discount,an allowance of money in reduction of an amount to be paid折扣quantity rebate批发折扣;rebate of tax退税

12.CBD,or cash before delivery:a condition made by a supplier when advertising his goods,meaning that he will send goods which have been ordered by post if the buyer pays for them in advance付(现)款交货

13.collection banker:one who collects checks for his customers,that is,he presents checks to other bankers for payment托收银行

14.clear one's balance:to pay the money which is due so as to make the account balanced结账,付(欠)账

balance:the sum required to make one side of an account equal to the other side余额;to calculate the sum required to make one side of an account equal to the other结算
