As often as we use nouns，we also use pronouns，which are noun substitutes．Pronouns can be classified as Personal Pronouns，Compound Personal Pronouns，Indefinite Pronouns，Demonstrative Pronouns，Interrogative Pronouns，and Relative Pronouns．Since pronouns are substitutes for nouns，they have the same properties，or characteristics as nouns:person，number，gender，and case．A pronoun must agree with its antecedent in person，number，and gender．
