本节课的教学目标是学会DIY的相关词汇,读懂并能理解文章的内容并完成相关练习,引导学生的DIY意识。
这是一堂英语阅读课。如何激发学生的阅读兴趣,在有限的时间里可以读懂文章,并掌握一些阅读技巧和方法,养成良好的阅读习惯,这是我在准备这节课之前一直考虑的问题。
我知道阅读的兴趣和能力的培养不是一蹴而就的,这需要老师精心设计课堂,以科学有效的方法来引导学生阅读,并且在阅读的过程中同时提高学生的听说读写能力。为了达成这些目标,我在这节课中进行了以下几个方面的尝试:
一、故事性的生词导入
Reading课型不可避免地会有很多生词,这是学生阅读中的拦路虎,为了消灭这些拦路虎,第一部分要在情景中导入生词,本单元是以DIY为主的,所以我选择的方式是用自己DIY故事来导入生词。通过自己制作丝网花的过程,让学生在听故事的过程中理解生词的意义。
二、多样的阅读题型训练
My cousin and DIY这篇阅读文章一共有5段,分为三个部分:Introduction of Andrew,Andrew's DIY jobs,Advice from Suzy。每一个部分分别设置不同的题型,比如介绍部分比较简单,可以设置比较容易的问答题。main body部分用图片的形式让学生加深对阅读内容以及细节的理解。最后一个部分设置成任务型阅读的题型,让学生对文章有更深层次的认识。
当学生有了阅读兴趣之后,有效的阅读技巧就显得尤为重要了。本节课存在的问题是对于阅读技巧的训练不充分,缺乏对学生阅读策略的指导,使得一部分学生在阅读过程中无从下手,不知道怎么捕捉有效的消息,阻碍了学生做出正确的推理和判断。
点评:
本节课的教学设计将培养学生的阅读兴趣和养成良好的阅读习惯放在了首要的地位。在导入新课时,教师和学生分享了自己的DIY的故事,并且展示自己的DIY作品,吸引学生的眼球,激起学生的阅读欲望。美国教育家哈曼说过:“那些不设法勾起学生求知欲望的教学,正如同捶打着一块冰冷的生铁。”一篇文章如果导入的精彩,就犹如给这篇文章披上一层神秘的面纱,使得学生跃跃欲试想一睹文章的芳容。课堂活动能吸引学生,那么学生就更愿意付出努力去阅读。接着教师鼓励学生大胆地猜测文章的内容,设计富有挑战性的阅读任务:找出段落大意、问与答、发现问题、两两对话、深层思考、匹配、提建议、讨论Andy这个人物的特点、补全对话等;教师引导学生在限定的时间内有任务地阅读、思考或讨论,得出完成任务的构思和方案,坚持让学生充分运用语言来解决一系列的问题,使学生感受到英语的魅力,激发学生的阅读兴趣。特别值得一提的是further-thinking、提建议和讨论人物的特点这些活动,教师对语言内容和情景进行适当的改编,使这些环节的活动更加生动、自然,富有感染力,激发学生的想象力,提升语言输出的质量。爱因斯坦曾说过,想象力比知识更重要,因为知识是有限的,而想象力概括着世界上的一切,是知识进化的源泉。
读后活动要求学生以小组为单位制作爱心信封,体现了教师重视对学生情感态度与价值观的培养。学生在动眼、动口、动脑、动手中进行小组合作,培养学生的合作精神。积极调动不同层次学生参与小组活动,展示特长,发挥作用,团结协作,激发持续的学习热情,不断使学生体验成功,实现学生的自我价值。
