The lightning thunders through the canopy of the parasol trees.

When can I call your dad“Grandfather”?

If you don’t marry me,I will go away by myself.

When can I call your mom“Grandmother”?

Then there will be nothing else I need fight for.

When can I call your kid brother“Uncle”?

That one word would silence all their talk.

If you will be my husband,

Then even rice soaked in river water will taste delicious;

Then even salt tablets would be edible,

Anything would taste as sweet as sugarcane,

As sweet as the sugarcane that is as sweet as sugar itself,

Just so long as we can stay together as husband and wife!
