[00:03.76]Should We Help Strangers?

[00:06.07]We used to appreciate those who like to help strangers.

[00:09.80]But nowadays people tend to be very cautious of strangers,

[00:13.34]because they are afraid

[00:14.40]that helping others can sometimes bring them trouble.

[00:17.89]In my opinion,

[00:19.01]we should try our best to help others in a reasonable way.

[00:22.49]We should try to help others,

[00:24.31]no matter they are strangers or not.

[00:26.74]First, helping others is a virtue,

[00:28.61]and it will make our society more harmonious.

[00:32.21]Just imagine what a terrible world

[00:34.27]it would be if everyone was cold-hearted!

[00:37.38]Second, to some extent, helping others is helping oneself.

[00:41.73]We may come across some trouble

[00:43.66]and need others' help some day.

[00:45.85]If everyone turns a blind eye to our trouble

[00:48.90]and turns a deaf ear to our appeal

[00:51.47]for aid just because we are strangers to them,

[00:54.76]what shall we do at that time?

[00:57.19]Therefore, we should be glad to help others.

[01:00.50]However, helping others may sometimes bring us trouble

[01:03.86]or even put us in danger.

[01:06.04]So when we are helping others,

[01:07.97]we should also protect ourselves

[01:10.27]and offer our help in an appropriate way.

[01:13.44]For example, to help someone who was robbed,

[01:16.93]calling the police is a much wiser way

[01:19.99]than chasing the robbers alone.
